Castagneto Carducci and Bolgheri

Castagneto Carducci and Bolgheri are two of the most famous wine areas of Tuscany. These are historic villages where the traditional wine-making activity is today taken as an example and appreciated all over the world. Both are located about 30 km south of the Residence Rosa dei Venti.
The area is definitely impressive. The two villages are gathered on gentle hills with panoramic views of the surrounding countryside and the sea in the distance. The historic center with a typical medieval look makes even more magical the atmosphere that you breathe along the narrow streets of the villages. Besides presenting an ideal microclimate for the cultivation of the vine, the area also boasts important historical testimonies and environmental oasis protected by the WWF.
Castagneto and Bolgheri are part of the Wine Route of the Etruscan Coast that develops throughout the province of Livorno. This food and wine itinerary reaches all areas of wine production in the area and allows tourists to get to know them more closely. Along the way there are in fact numerous farms, wineries and wine bars that organize guided tastings of wine or local products. These events are unmissable occasions to taste fine DOC wines such as Bolgheri, Montescudaio, the Terratico di Bibbona.
The road is an ideal itinerary for cycling, hiking or horse-riding. It is in fact immersed in nature, between long rows of vines and olive trees, cultivated fields, Mediterranean vegetation.
